  1. EGS-TV-Player Version 2.0 (c) by Helmut Hoffmann

  4. This is a freely distributable video sequence player program
  5. for the EGS graphic system. Please note that there are currently
  6. some limitations, which will be gone in future releases.
  7.  
  8. * EGS-TV-Player shows all sequences in the EGS-TV-Sequence format
  9.   direct from hard disk. The memory usage is very low this way
  10.   (also memory is needed to hold a frame in full size as loaded
  11.   and in converted form for EGS). Since version 2.0 also random
  12.   access harddisk sequences (generated by EGS-TV Professional) can
  13.   be shown.

  15. * EGS-TV-Player does not depend on the vlab.library. It has its own
  16.   very high quality (21Bit) color decoding routines. It can also show
  17.   sequences in greyscales.
  18.  
  19. * EGS-TV-Player accepts a file name as argument when started from CLI
  20.   or pops up a file requester when started from workbench or without
  21.   CLI parameter.

  23. * EGS-TV-Player shows the sequence in a loop, until the close button
  24.   of the window is pressed.
  25.  
  26. * EGS-TV-Player runs in a window on the EGS-Default-Screen.

  28. * You can start EGS-TV-Player several times concurrently to watch
  29.   several sequences at the same time.

  31. * Please note that EGS-TV-Player runs fastest on 24Bit-Screens even if
  32.   you view a sequence in greyscales. This is because the EGS-System
  33.   dithers on lower screen depths, which takes lots (!) of time.

  36. has been generated with

  40. the ultimate Video Editing, DeskTopVideo, Blue-Box-Effect and
  41. Framegrabber software for the EGS graphic system and VLab-framegrabbers.

  43. It shows a standard rubber flying through a Norwegian landscape.
  44. This has been done with the blue screen effect. Please note the passage
  45. at the end of the sequence, where you can see the rubber two times
  46. concurrently. This has been done by applying the blue box effect
  47. a second time. With this technic any number of new foreground
  48. layers can be applied to a background sequence.

  50. For more information, take a look at EGS-TV. EGS-TV is shareware,
  51. the professional version (including harddisk recording) can be
  52. registered for only 30US$ (in europe: 40DM). To generate sequences,
  53. which fit into your memory, you can also use the classical version
  54. of EGS-TV, which only costs 20US$ (in europe: 25DM).

  66. I tried my best to make this program error-free. It has been checked
  67. with enforcer and mungwall and works without problems on my configuration.
  68. Nevertheless, as there are so many possible configurations of Amigas
  69. and EGS-Systems, I can not guarantee that this software
  70. will work on your configuration. Especially the complex EGS-System
  71. does not have the desired stability in some situations. In cases
  72. where I found problems with EGS, I tried to workaround them, or
  73. explained them in the documentation.

  92. This version of EGS-TV-Player may be freely distributed as long as the
  93. following conditions are met:

  97. 2) No file may be modified or crunched/packed.

  99.    The only official way to distribute EGS-TV-Player demo packed is the
  100.    original egstvplayer.lha or egstvplayer.lzh-archive.

  111.               callable system: Maximum charge 4$ (US-dollar) (in Germany: 6DM)

  113.    Anyway, it must be made explictly clear to the buyer, that he does not
  114.    pay for the program itself but only for the duplication service.
